Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits
Social Security Disability insurance is a program that is taxpayer funded, meaning that workers that earn a paycheck and their employer takes taxes out, a portion of these tax dollars are withheld for people who have become or are already disabled and unable to engage in substantial, gainful activity from regular, consistent employment.
Supplemental Security Income
Supplemental Security Income may be available to children or adults who are disabled, blind, or age 65 or older with limited income and/or resources. It is a financial needs based program that is intended for disabled individuals with limited household financial resources.
